The article examines drachms minted by Apollonia in Illyria with the device of a suckling cow. Two hoards are presented, from Jubica 1965 and Shkodra 1997. It appears that the figure on the observe is that of the chief official of the mint, who also appears on 28 of 74 issues together with colleagues (not prytaneis!) on the reverse. On the basis of these hoards it is possible to distinguish four periods: the first from ca. 250 to 168 ВС contains 27 issues, the second, from 167 to 120-100, 20 issues, the third from 120- 100 to 80-70, 18 issues, which circulated throughout the Balkans. The last 9 issues were minted up to the end of this coinage in 48 ВС.
