Abstrakt

The author argues that the coins attributed to the Indo-Greek king Zoilos II Soter may belong to two separate kings, proposes some changes in the chronology of the period, and tentatively places the last Indo-Greek kings in a dynastic framework. This thesis is to some extent based on differences between coin portraits, and the interpretation of royal portraits is discussed in Appendix I. Appendix II contains a general analysis of when Indo-Greek coinage issued under one name should be attributed to more than one king; hitherto the preference has been to keep the number of kings to a minimum, (jens.jakobsson@pub.malmo.se)
