If i went to a garage sale and bought a morgan dollar for $1.50, that means it was worth $1.50 to that seller. But everywhere else it is worth $30+. So what I'm asking is: what is the market price?

These are exceedingly rare so the chances of it being genuine are very remote. It is even difficult to find good photographs of a genuine one to compare yours to. Here are some links to give you an idea of what a slabbed and graded genuine specimen could go for and actually fetched.

When a commodity numbers in the hundreds of recorded sales per day an abstract market value can be aduced. When a single example appears for sale per decade that sale defines the market.

if You think it is authentic spend a few dollars to have NGC put it up for you. Then you can have it evaluated by actual experts who know legitimate collectors instead of a random anonymous internet board.

Japanese Pattern coins are very scars and most if not all are accounted for unless you have credible provenance the chances are nearly zero that you have an authentic one.
