Hello everyone , very sorry have not been very active. But have a lot of issues going on. I have been trying to redo my collection and put things in order. But found a US state quarter, 2007 D Idaho, what I have noted as a press through error. Well an image can say more than words.
If you look there is the big blob right behind the bird head, But there is a large depression area to its right. Just under the word Idaho and running though its O.
you can follow it though the bird body And were it comes out . there is a crack.
It is hard to see but the crack goes though the map and to the rim.
should I keep as a press through error. or is the die going to. Your thoughts. Thank you daryl
Hi harryg Thank you for your thoughts. Yes that can be. But the blob or the pressed through something like grease. Area looks like it is depressed. Thinking the die broke. And half moved. Not sure. you can see a lot more with coin in hand.
Thank you all for your thoughts. The thing what gives me the problem. Is the crack from the top of the wing, hard to see, to the map, then to the rim. Iam pretty sure it is struck through, grease most likely . And maybe a bad planchet.
