I have 16th and 17th century coins in my collection where I have the same question. The absence of detail on some of the high points on the coin suggest some slight circulation. There is also the possibility that the dies were worn (accounting for some loss of detail), and the coin has not been cleaned (it looks like there is pretty good luster in the fields?).
Yes, you are right. However I don't know what light the seller used for take the photo, the dies of the coin looks with a different color than the coin itself. But is interesting, yes.
