I purchased some chiltern coin albums to store my coins in and noticed they had a strong smell of pvc, so probably won’t be using them.
I have looked at what others use on previous post and the lighthouse grande may be my next choice. However it is stated they are made with leatherette which I’ve read is made with pvc.
I use stapled 2x2 flips in pvc free pages should I be concerned about albums or am I over thinking it?
The only other option is card binders or thin polypropylene binders which probably wouldn’t hold much.

I wouldn't be too concerned as leatherette is can be made from fibers that have been coated in either PVC or polyurethane ... Lighthouse most likely use polyurethane or similar as it wouldn't make sense for them to use PVC in their products.
If you want to know for sure you could email Lighthouse at info@lighthouse.us
As long as there's no way for PVC to contact the coins, you should be fine. The reaction only occurs between the PVC and the metal of the coin itself (you have to have both for it to occur); it can't leach through other non-PVC materials (at least I've never heard of such a thing).
If you want to be cautious about it, auscoin's point is a good one; Lighthouse has their brand name tied up in not destroying your collection. It would be surprising for them to carelessly gamble with that.
Overall, it sounds like either way you've got good options. Good luck!
