Hi,

I bought a coin yesterday that isn't in Numista and want to add it. I have found the coin but on another site, but a variation exists that could be closer to mine. The other site references the 188 Page Mertens book and that mine could be Variation 30b)

I have found the book
Münz- und Geldgeschichte der Stadt Northeim, etc (Münzstudien. Bd. 4.) Unknown Binding – 1 Jan. 1928
by Eberhard Mertens (Author)

in a few national libraries, but wondered if anyone has a copy and could identify 30b, or tell me where I can get a copy of the book.

The coin is a 1 Kortling from 1554

Thanks Stewart

Maybe this helps (or maybe this was the site where you've found your coin)? https://www.coingallery.de/stadt/n/northeim.htm
Hi,
Thanks for this, it was the site I'd seen.
It mentions a 30b variant, so wondered what the book says. I'll post a pic of the coin.

Thanks
Stewart
It says the 30b variant has the lettering: MO∗NO∗CIVI∗NORTHEM∗1554 while the 30a has the lettering: MONE⎊NOVA⎊NORTHEM
You can create the Numista entry anyhow.

From that helpful link, it looks like there could be two date lines, 1554 and 1555.

You could just list the catalog reference as Mertens 30 for the 1554, and in the Comments section write "Varieties exist" and reference the two different reverse legends.
Please ignore I just saw the book creation request was already made
