Hello everyone here in the forum.

I would like to shortly introduce myself
My name is Norbert and I come from Hamburg / Germany.

I have been collecting coins since around 2007, starting with sets of Malta and Cyprus coins and then 2 euro commemorative coins. Later, 10 euro silver coins also came from Germany.
Since 2018 I have been collecting commemorative coins for the 2006 FIFA World Cup and now for the 1994 World Cup.

So the following question regarding Suriname 1994 100 guilders World Cup 1994.

This coin is available in different embossings and designs, I have already found that out from my coin catalog (World Coin Catalog 20th & 21st Century 1900 - 2013 42nd Edition 2014)

Since the information there and here in the online catalog is different, I would like to know.

How do I actually recognize the 999 silver coin?

As far as I know, this coin should weigh about 20 g and not 25 or 28 g as described. I rely on the fact that there are a number of 999 silver coins weighing 20g from various exotic countries. I also believe that the stamp >E.P. 999< is embossed on the left ?

I think all other coin types either have no further minting at all (E.P. 999) or on the right side.

Can someone here in the forum help me?

Greetings from Hamburg, Norbert

Hello Norbert and welcome to Numista.

When talking about specific coins a link to them should be provided for fast access.

A link for the '94 Surinam issues: LINK

I can't provide much more other then to say those look hella confusing on first sight! 😅

Hi, thanks for the link, but I already knew this info.

My question about whether the information on the coins was checked somewhere and whether they are actually correct.
I believe that KM#43.1, N#101534 is Me-silver plated because >999 E.P.< is embossed on the right side. There is also the same coin with the same embossing on the left side.

In addition, it cannot be the KM#43.2, N#101533
same weight and size as KM#43.1, N#101534.

Both are said to weigh 20g and one is silver 999 the other Me-silver plated.

As I said, who has checked the information or can help me.

I may have the opportunity to purchase the silver coin, but I would also like to know whether it is actually this, it is correspondingly expensive.
Can someone say something about the editions?

The link Idolenz posted and suggested you should have posted was for the benefit of those trying to help you, not for you.

So…KM# 43.1 and KM# 43.2 are silver plated brass and weigh 20 grams.

KM# 43.2a is .999 silver and weighs 26 grams.

Not in the Numista catalog is KM#43.1a which is .999 silver and weighs 26 grams.

The .1's have EP on right, the .2's have EP on left.

This information comes also from SCWC.

I don't know what Me-silver plated means.

Hello,
my question is:

Is the information correct?

I think the KM# 43.1 & KM# 43.2 need to weigh more
According to my catalogue, the silver coin weighs 20 g and the base coins weigh 25 g and 28 g respectively KM# 43 (K-N).

Brass silver plated = Me-silver plated

Is it possible that there is an error here?

My coin catalog says the following:

Schön# 35 / KM# 43
100 guilders (K-N) 1994. Reverse duel, inscription >999 E.P.<
(electroplated, sic!) on the right in the field. 28 g, diameter 38 mm [GRC] .
a (brass silver plated) [CM] [2000 copies]
   1. Inscription >999 E.P.< on the left in the field - weight ?
   2. Inscription >999 E.P.< on the right in the field - weight ?
3.Inscription >999 E.P.< on the right in the field, side of the coat of arms of Zambia (2000 Kwacha) (sic!) - KM# 67 - weight ?
b (S) 999 silver 20 g, inscription >999 E.P.< (sic!), left in field [GRC]

What do the designations (sic!) and [GRC] mean?

Please move the question to the correct category if possible.
Sorry, that was my fault.

Here is the information in SCWC for KM# 43*. KM# 44* and KM# 67.  I believe what's in Numista matches the information in SCWC.  As I have none of these coins I cannot independently verify if it is correct.  Maybe another member can help more.

I think if you would attach photos of your coin so we can see exactly what you have along with weight and diameter, we could solve this rather quickly.

Hello,
so before anyone misunderstands - I don't have this coin!

I would just like information about whether the information here in the coin register / coin catalog is correct!

There are 5 different versions of KM# 43, 1 x copper-nickel 28g, 3 x brass silver plated 26g (weight is unconfirmed), and silver 999 20g.

I may intend to purchase the coin in silver, but I would also like to purchase the correct coin.

In my catalog - world coin catalog 20th & 21st century 1900 - 2013 Battenberg Verlag they are described as above.
