Hi everyone, I would like to know if any of you can help me figure out how much the coin is valued?

It was a gift from my grandmother when I was 9 yrs old and I am now 35 lol… but anyway, I remember she had so many of them. well, I hope to get answers.

This is most likely one pound copper with silver plating. So value is not that much, it's a nice paperweight….

Does it say .999 silver on it anywhere?  It's serialized, and I don't see why they'd do that for copper but I guess they could.

If it does not indicate silver and fineness on the item, it is not bullion but likely copper with a very fine layer of silver coating for appearance and marketing purposes to imply you are purchasing something valuable. Usually comes with a “certificate of authenicity”. https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=317344

Well, if OP can provide the diameter and thickness (and perhaps a confirmation that it's indeed 453.6 grams), density can be calculated to a high enough degree of certainty that we could tell whether it's silver or copper… or something else.

Here's hoping your grandmother didn't shell out hundreds of dollars for a bunch of copper!

A google search for “1 pound silver plated morgan” and  “1 pound silver morgan” both return results, but it looks like these are indeed silver-plated copper, and were being sold as silver. Some kind of scam - possibly targeting the elderly?
