Any advice on coin grading services and prices they charge?

I feel ANACS is the best deal, and doesnt require any annual membership futz.

they often take a table at coin shows, where you can submit your stuff hand to hand, saving you postage.

I feel that Coin Grading is a US-only thing, I live in Europe, where almost zero coins get graded, only if you want to put coins up for special auctions. Everyone just uses coin holders. I mean, I have a 1D 1834 and 1927 Maundy and they are just fine in a holder

Personally, I buy Leuchtturm coin slabs and use a 3D printer and trying to kind of “copy” the NGC design, but it hasn't worked out all that well yet.

Not one coin in my collection has been slabbed or graded by a third party, I bought a book in 1970 called how to grade your coins and taught myself. If anything I tend to under grade my coins as I scrutinise each one carefully looking for minute blemishes

PCGS: highest cost but most respected for coins (i.e. they will sell for more than NGC or ANACS). Due to the high cost, I wouldn't submit a coin valued at less than $200.

NGC: better for tokens than PCGS based on the number of token I've seen in their slabs. They will also give you a Proof Like (PL) designation on tokens (if justified), which PCGS will not.

ANACS: very economical, but not very well respected. I would use their service if I was interested in submitting a Morgan VAM which the other two don't recognize (the others only cover the top 100).
