Hello everyone, I have a rare coin (China Soviet republic 200 cash 1934) that is physically in excellent condition but it’s oxidised and though I tried to clean it with pure acetone it almost didn’t help and cleaned only the barely oxidised part of the coin but the coin itself remains dirty and ugly. I wonder if it would decrease it’s value or not?

It looks like there is a layer of paint on it almost.  And yes generally cleaning a coin will decrease its value.

I mean would it´s value be decreased by the oxidation or not because if I clean it maybe the value wouldn’t be decreased as much as if I leave it like this?

Usually, cleaning it will decrease its value more than if you didn't clean it.

It does look like paint/varnish on it. Soak it in acetone and see if it dissolves.

Soak means immerse for an extended time.

Ok, Thank you 😀.
