1887 S Morgan 

No damage noticable on the rims

 

Any opinions on the face marks on the obverse? I believe they are bag marks. If so, would that knock this coin out of MS64? Thanks.

To me this looks like new coins in a bag on which someone sat, or which was below many other bags. So, possibly bag marks, but they really distract from what might have been an MS64 otherwise. The high points on both sides are no longer MS64 IMHO.

 

There are quite a few people on this site who know a lot about Morgans. Hopefully by bumping this thread up they'll see it and provide their knowledgeable opinion.

Thank you for your response. I agree. I am sure mule/horse travel at the bottom of a bag did not help. Here are some more photos:
