Good day,

Need some help with these 2 Cash coins..
I think they are both Y# 303, incused star..
But they are sligtly different..
The star in the left flag is different, the end of both ribbons are different..
The position of the Chinese characters or the beaded inner circle, for example the most right one at the top:

left coin at a bead, right coin between beads.
Also has the right coin rosettes with a dot in the middle.
(The left one is struck on a clipped planchet, does that comment a small premium?)

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.. 😊

Not an expert but from veiw your coins are 303.3 with the larger rossettes

Here is an example 303.0 's rossettes

303.4 I would assume to have rossettes that are even smaller still, although I cannot find an example, only going by the catalogue descriptions

Thanks for the reply..
I was thinking, maybe it's another sub number as the rosettes are different.. But on the other hand, there was a high demand for coins, and there were multiple mints. So I assume there are plenty of "small" variants.

Yes you are correct, unfortunately I don't know of any subtypes or papers describing (at least outside of china itself). David Hart did a lot of research on the cast coins, all in English but not sure if he's done anything more modern, worth checking tho
