Whew, that's one catalogue name you don't want to miss any letters out of!
Common, neilithic, you're not 15 any more! Learning funny foreign words is just a pleasant side effect of globalization.

(Dutch kids learning English always need some time to get accustomed to the verb to cut, which in Dutch happens to be the most powerful swearing word currently available. Especially when memorizing the tenses, and you have to say cut three times in a row...)

But back to the point: can somebody help derf with his question about the Funck catalogue?
Hello,

In a German catalog from 1969 (Standart Münzkatalog Deutschland 1871 - 1969), the grades are:
I (Stempelglanz - uncirculated),
II
(vorzüglich - extremely fine),
III
(sehr schön - very fine),
IV
(schön - fine) and
V (gering erhalten - fair)
Can it also be a grade in the Funck catalog?

Enjoy Life,
J.

I really don't think that it is a grading system as you indicate, as none of the other indicators that you gave show up.  But thank you for the suggestion.

From where the 'V' is placed, I think it has something to do with the physical properties or design of the coin.

Merci trés beaucoup ...
