Hello people :)

I would like to ask if someone here know anything about this company, if it is safe or not to buy such coin holders and if it contains PVC ?

They reduced the costs by making them without that handle that could let you drag them out of the sheets.

Are they bad ?
Personally I would not use them.
For a test... put a coin in this holder, then try to push it out with your fingers.

If the holder goes "snap" and the plastic breaks and the coin jumps out, it is made of Mylar plastic, which is brittle and safe for coins!

If the holder bends and deforms without breaking and you have to grab your scissors to cut out the coin, it has PVC plastic in it, which is terrible for coins (it releases corrosive fumes over years and turns coins green).

PVC is very useful for making plastic that is not brittle, but we do not like it for coins! It also has a unique smell. Your shower curtain probably contains PVC, so next time you open up a new shower curtain, remember that smell.
Any suggestions for a good holder ?

Help will be appreciated :)
Leuchtturm
Lighthouse make really good ones, they can be a bit pricey though
Leuchtturm and Lighthouse ... are the same, gents!

YES. I am sorry Neil, I know I have been unfair before quoting you run for "storage jars for coins", but here you are very right.
Leuchturm is the name in quality.
It is pricy, but if you want to store your coins for your grandchildren and beyond... , that is the thing. period.
German Quality rules.

I disagree, how long have companies been producing flips?  30 years? 40 years?  Yet you can find beautifully preserved coins that are hundreds of years old, even thousands of years old in the case of some of the chinese cash coins.  So how have they been preserved from out grandfathers and beyond when they didn't have fips to store them in?

Fips are great for presenting your collection and making them look nice, but it's not really necessary to protect them, unless you're handling them a lot.  And if that is the case then the non plasticised flips are fine for protecting the coins.

I put my silver coins in Lighthouse flips because it looks better and most of them are worth more than the flip.  But the rest of my coins go in the 2 sided plastic fips.  Why would I put a copper coin worth under $1 in an expensive flip when the plastic ones are fine for preserving the coin and are a fraction of the cost.
okay.

I put everything [almost] in Leuchtturm, because I trust them, and it has been working in the last 15 years... alternativies are there, of course, but ... [to me] ... less convenient
Does anyone have positive or negative comments on Hartberger flips?
And what about Hartberger or Importa?
honestly,  I don't know them
It depends what you do with your collection of course.

If it's just as an investment, I wouldn't waste money on flips, store them in coin rolls, coin drawers, etc until you're ready to re-sell.

If you like handling and looking at your coins (like me) you'll need something to protect them.  Basically you get whatever flips or storage cases you can afford (but stay away from the soft vinyl flips because they will turn the coins green).

Non plasticised vinyl flips are cheapish and fine for storing coins, saflips are more expensive, the carboard lighthouse flips are more expensive again, or if you've got pots of money then you can get the airtite or quadrum capsules or even get the coins slabbed, it's completely up to you.
My most expensive coins are in a specially designed drawer (Golds, Romans, Ancients, and Thalers) ... and that is custom made by a carpenter... plus ... put hidden in a safe, of course
I started off using the Hartberger ones but changed to lighthouse.  I found since they were solid cardboard, it was harder to get thicker coins into them unless you went up a size, then it just looked strange.  The lighthouse ones have an inner circle of cardboard around the plastic centre that is detatched so you can get the thicker coins in no trouble.

Also I think I had a bad batch of the shilling sized flips because they didn't quite seal property and the coin kept sliding out of the centre and getting stuck on the adhesive.
Am i really the only person using non-pvc mini ziplock bags. It is not so much the cost of flips that scares me than weight. All that extra paper in end adds many many kilograms to my already heavy collection.
And non-pvc does not always have to be non-soft. In medical devices production all ziplock bags used are non-pvc too.
Or sorry, minigrip bags would maybe be righter word to use for them.
Airtight and all.
I put my special coins in plastic bags, they aren't brittle, but I can easily tear them, and they don't smell. Do they have PVC? My coins have had NO CHANGE so far in them (months).
PVC takes years to build up.
k thx :)
zulu find out from manufacturer. trace who produces the bags, send them a mail or something. cant say by any description for sure.

I use quite a lot of Hartberger coin holders in 20-pocket leaves in my albums:

However, due to the expense (and the weight, KartWay) this kind of treatment is generally reserved for my specialist countries, i.e. UK and South Africa. There are a couple of exceptions to that rule, including New Zealand and Ottoman Empire:
