I've catalogued all of the coins I inherited and I'm starting to acquire other coins. I'm wondering what coins are most interesting for people around the world? I'd like to keep an eye out for these coins if they become available.
Thanks for the reply. I really like the walking liberty half as well. Peace dollar and Mercury dime are probably my other favorites. Silver Eagle is my favorite.
It really depends are you talking about one specific design? I personally love the old commemorative half dollars...but my opinion isnt what you are looking for since I am american :)
I think many international users would be interested in America's modern non-circulating commemoratives. Old American silver coins can be found all across the world, but modern commemorative half dollars and silver dollars are more scarce.

Hello,
My favorite US-coins are the Indian Head-cents et the Buffalo-nickels but as these are no silver coins they disqualify for your question.
Ma favorite silver coins are the Standing Liberty-quarters.
Type collectors are generally not very interested into commemoratives, especially proof coins sold above face value and not meant for circulation.
I would say Morgan dollars are the most popular and collected silver coins in the US. I've certainly seen a lot of them at every money show I've attended, but I don't know about the rest of the world.
Walking Liberty $1 is a popular bullion coin, but it's NCLT, so fewer people are interested in them. Trade dollars are also very popular, but rather expensive.
But, unless you're just buying coins as an investment to be re-sold later, you shouldn't choose what you collect based on what other people like. It's all about what you find interesting and enjoyable. Personally, I collect modern US commemoratives (proof dollars and halves) - yes, they are NCLTs and yes, proofs are more expensive, but not as expensive as many of the older coins, easier to find in high grade, and there are a couple new ones to add to the collection every year.
