G'day!
I am going through my whole collection and have now reached East Germany - or German Democratic Republic. I notice in the coin page of the 5 Mark coin, marking the 20 years of GDR that the text on the edge are upwards when having the obverse up (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces3110.html). On my coin the edg text is upside-down when the obverse is up. I think this should be mentioned on the year line.

Also, in the title, of the linked coin, it says "Nickel-bronze", but on the coin page it says "CompositionNickel brass". Are these two equal, or it something off here?
I also assume the Copper-Nickel version is much more shiny than the Copper-Brone coin.

Please remind me to add picture of the edge script.

Side note: It would be interesting if someone also could add picure of the edge script for the other to varieties; plain edge and Mongolian inscription and dates on edge.

Cheers!
In almost all cases, edge lettering is applied in a random orientation, and there's a 50% chance the text will be right side up or upside down. Since edge orientation is often not significant or add numismatic value, Numista does not recognize this distinction, except in cases where one is definitely more common than the other.
Sure, but if one does not make distinction, how does one know if a variety is more common than the other?

This issue has already been resolved so many times. To be honest, I'm surprised that this is not a newbie asking, but such an experienced member. We removed all random varieties long ago.

I'm asking because there're still fragments of information left, and if you don't remove it all, every variaties should be presented.
