Hello all,
I got this beat up coin in a lot. I'm dying of curiosity. Could anyone help me identify it?
It has some similarities to some maravedis (castle with three turrets, lion with crown on reverse), but it is so light...
- weight : under a gram (my scale doesn't go lighter than that...)
- diameter : 24 mm
- looks like copper, but hard to tell. Sometimes looks like bronze.
Regards,
RMcK

I will assume that this is Castile and Leon 2 maravedi (1474-1504)
Super! Thanks for the tip, konstantin1968.

You got me on the right lead, which brought me to what appears to be an exact match : Enrique/Henri IV (1454-1474), as seen in the photo below, from https://tauleryfau.bidinside.com/es/lot/19060/reino-de-castilla-y-len-enrique-iv-/

Everything matches : rounded castle turrets (versus squared), gothic letter "A" under castle, round border between crest and lettering (versus scalloped on later pieces). Case closed! Thanks!

Best regards,
RMcK

Is it the one on Numista?
https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces127695.html
The one with the white background is from the auction site I provided the link for.
In the Numista link you provided, the turrets are pointed, and it weighs 2.4 grams, whereas mine (red background) is under a gram.
Is the one on the auction site misidentified? Regardless, it is a perfect design match, with the exception of the weight (1.7 gr, versus mine, which is under a gram. Corrosion with time?)
Maybe mine is actually a dinero or a cornado (lower value), which would match in terms of weight, though it is copper (I think), and not billon, which contradicts the dinero or cornado option.
