Hi, I've been a member for all of 5 minutes, thanks for allowing me to join. Can anyone shed some light on this set, I have searched the web and all I can find is that it appears to be Byelorussian in origin. Thank you.
hello,

yes, this is a set of souvenir medals from Belarus made by Minsk instrumental Plant named after V.I. Lenin.

Do you have any specific question about them?

Thank you so much, I have spent hours searching for information, not getting anywhere. :) I recognized the large central medal as being Minsk, which led me to think they were Belorussian, and then identified another as commemorating Katyn, which is well known in western Europe. Do the other three signify famous Belorussian incidents of the patriotic war? Thank you again for taking the time to answer my query, I am very grateful.
The language on the medals is normal Russian (from Russia), not Belorussian. That's a bit peculiar given the obvious Belorussian theme of the medals. Even in Soviet times, Belorussian was the national language of the Belorussian SSR.
1. The first medal is about this memorial complex: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mound_of_Glory

2. The second is about this person - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikolai_Gastello
By the way, a couple of years ago I lived in the street named after him

3. The central - about Granite Monument of Victory here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victory_Square,_Minsk

4. The 4-th is about Khatyn, but not Katyn! There are 2 different places and tragedies around, do not mix them: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khatyn_massacre

5. is in a glory of Brest Fortress and its defense - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defense_of_Brest_Fortress

And there is a text "Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten" on the box

So much information! Once again, thank you so much :)

Does anyone know the value of the set.

I got it in Minsk in 1974.
