Can anyone explain where the symbols after the date for the Philippines 1 Peso KM# 269a (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces17107.html) stand for?

Don’t know what it stands for, but I think you see it on the lower left side of the bust. Possibly signature initials of the designer or a mint mark of some kind?

EDIT: When the thread was first started, when I selected the link to the coin, this symbol circled in red showed at right for each year line. Now for me the coin link shows double XX boxes on each year line.

This how it appears on my screen! No idea, what that might be.... The mint mark as suggested by gyoschak is probably correct, but not all screens show that!

Okay, thank you all for the information.
But the box after the year line is for "Mint letters". Let's keep it that way because everything else gives problems and confusion as you can see.
In the Mint section is a special place for adding that kind of pictures:

Personally I don't mind exotic scripts but unfortunately not to many people will have a browser font that supports Baybayin even with the growing Filipino user-base.

But in this case it seems to be the engraver's monogram that's under the shoulder of portrait (at least according to some coin pages) so it wouldn't belong in the mintmark section.

Or it could be a stylized BSP for Banko Sentral Pilipinas only resembling a Baybayin Pi.

Yes!...
I was very surprised with that symbol since it didn't matched the image on numista document data symbol sighting as Philippine mint mark.

The real one shows “ᜉᜒ”, not “ᜀ”.
