Hi I have what I believe is a Dutch Republic (Zeeland) 1/8 Ducat/Daalder. The weight is OK & the width is maybe 1-1.5mm wider than listed, but that could be my measuring. What I'm wondering about is the ribbon right above the crown. My coin shows a single bend going straight down, but most others seem to show it curving a couple of times & outwards. Is this a variant o should I be concerned?

Thanks

I'm not an expert by any means, but in every picture I can find of this coin, that ribbon seems to be all over the place. Might be that the die engraving was done by hand and they weren't too worried about consistency on the ribbon. If the measurements are good, I'd trust it. Probably not much point in counterfeiting it in this condition anyway. Interested to hear other thoughts!

Thanks.

I have found quite a variety of designs now, so think you are probably right about their approach & happy it's not a counterfeit.

Thanks for the help again.
