€2 commemorative circulation coin in box - 'Heroes of the Pandemic'
On Monday 2nd August 2021, the Central Bank of Malta issued a €2 commemorative circulation coin in box with the theme ‘Heroes of the Pandemic’ primarily for the local market.
Twelve thousand five hundred (12,500) coins were struck in circulation quality at the Monnaie de Paris in France. The coin reverse shows the usual €2 side. The obverse (national side) was designed and engraved by Maria Anna Frisone, and depicts two medical professionals bracing themselves to face the unknown.
The coins issued are of circulation quality and will be presented individually in a coin box and with a certificate of authenticity . The limit of this product is that of 2250 coin boxes of which a limited number will be made available on the MCC e-shop as from Friday 6th August from 9.00am (CET)
