Could I have an evaluation of this coin, found in a Scottish deserted village and thought to be part of the pay if a Scottish soldier fighting in the thirty year war for Gustav against the Pope. The coin is as found in the ground. I would appreciate advice on its rarity and condition.
Hello and welcome to Numista!

Very nice find. Looks to be this 1 Mark coin 1615: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces107524.html
I'd grade it as fine although the crack and the edge damage would lower its value somewhat.

Here's NGC's evaluation: https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide/world/sweden-mark-km-61-1613-1617-19-cuid-1098259-duid-1548787

Thanks for allowing me to join what is a great site, and thanks to risirian1 for that evaluation of the coin it is much appreciated ,looking forward to posting other coins on the site which I have found over the years and that members may find interesting.
Fascinating story behind the coin and of course awesome find.

Ive always been fascinated with the 30 years war, great story that this could have been given by the Swedish army to a Scottish mercenary.

Please tell us the size and weight of your coin.
The diameter is 32mm sorry I do not have scales to weigh it
Sometimes coins we see here with unusual stories turn out to have authenticity issues, but I cannot see any issues with yours, at least with this side-by-side comparison to the coin in the Numista listing:

Some small differences in the legends: the letter D at the end of the outer legend is missing on yours, and the punctuation in the reverse legend appears to be different. I think these differences are normal die variation. The beading on the circle reverse is also larger than on the reference coin. But all the major devices look good to me.
