I have found a silver(in colour) magnetic 1967 3 pence. I am trying to figure out if it is a fake or the wrong blank was used. Any ideas.

All dimensions and weights are the same as a standard 3 pence.
picture below shows suspect in the centre with tarnished and crisp 1967 coins either side.

Hi Ts247 and Welcome!

Neither fake nor wrong blank but rather someone, for some unknown reason, has plated a 3 pence ... PMD (Post Mint Damage).

A coin is held in solution of silver nitrate.
This leads to a thin layer of silver forming on the submerged part of the coin.

I understand that for the colour and it was my first thought but it doesnt explain why its magnetic though, does it? There should be no ferrous metals in it.
'... but it doesnt explain why its magnetic though'

Maybe whatever the coin is plated in is magnetic ... is the magnetic attraction very strong?
Its strong enough to hold its self up. Noway near as strong as if it was a steel core.
If it's a plated 3 pence then the underlying coin should not be magnetic being nickel brass. I've just gone through a few hundred and none stick.

Nickel plated. That's easy to do.
