1998 & 2001 Brazil 10 Centavos with Doubling???

I couldn’t find anything on a known doubling of the date on a 1998 Brazil 10 Centavos. I think I found one here, and would like to hear your thoughts on this 1998 date doubling please.



I see there is a noted 2001 Doubling of the date, but my coin doesn’t show doubling of the date, but shows doubling on the “10” and the word Centavos. That’s in my opinion, and I’m looking to see what your opinions are on it.

These are machine doublings and these errors are very common. Machine doubling is an error, not a variety. Theoretically they can happen on any (modern) coin. That's why you'll never find these errors in coin catalogs. It's a nice error for error collectors so people talk about it on forums, but they never will end up in a catalog.

Brazil has (at least) one coin catalog specialized in modern errors, as it's a common niche here.

I'm not an collector of minting errors, but I guess this is the most recent edition. I don't have a copy, unfortunately.
