Hello, I need help identifying this UN SOL token from Montreal. I'm not entirely sure which variety this one is. I've searched the catalogue on here and I'm still not sure which one this token can be. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
The environmental damage makes it impossible to be more specific. Of course, you have the coin in hand so maybe with closer examination you can attribute it.
A shame really, as this Lower Canada token commands a very good premium. Struck by Jean-Marie Arnault, whom also cut the dies, and found struck over many different tokens of the day.

Thank you so much! I'm 99% sure this was a metal detecting find. I know then it must be one of the ones between LC-40A1 - LC-40A5 as this is made of copper. I might be able to narrow it down a bit more. Is there any particular way I can tell the difference between the varieties? I'm not too sure what counts as coarsely reeded and finely reeded. My coin does have a reeded edge.
Verweis : "Essor Prof"There are a lot more varieties than the ones mentioned at Numista, namely 69!
There are 35 types in the Numista catalogue. I wouldn't be surprised if it adds up to approximately 69 when considering the minor varieties for each type.
However, the Coins and Canada page is useful indeed. It's pretty much the best go-to site when you want to know anything about Canadian coins, tokens, and paper money.
