swaps with friends from outside the European Union [gelöst]

Dear all,

German Post (Deutsche Post) decided to discontinue the product I currently use for sending coins internationally by end of June ("Warenpost International").

The replacement I will have to use from July 01 will more than double my costs of sending, at least to destinations outside the European Union. Within the European Union it will only be slightly more expensive and no big issue.

This will mean, in the future I will limit my swapping activities mainly to the EU and will do swaps with friends from outside the EU in special cases only, e.g. if I am highly interested in specific coins. This also, as it seems that the folks at customs became quite nasty in the last year which is also no issue within the EU.

And this leads me to the point: If anyone from outside the EU would be up for a swap, lets try to do it within the next three weeks… :-)

(But I need to say that in many cases I will have to reject, as I do not find anything I need - but of course we can try).

Best wishes from Germany!

in the end everything will be good - if it's not good, then it's not the end...

Instead of more openness, the world is geting more and more closed and controlled. Globalisation is a joke!

what are you after?

not sure what allowed and not allowed in the mail for the EU

I am looking for any coin I am still missing. To my knowledge - at least for coins - there is no restriction to send to the European Union. If the value exceeds a certain amount it will be a case for the customs authorities but that's it…

in the end everything will be good - if it's not good, then it's not the end...
