German empire two marks weightloss

Hi,

i recent got a two marks coin with some wear and it only weighs 10.9 grams instead of 11.1 

is it plausible for a 11.1 gram coin to loose 0.2 grams or about 2% weight due to wear 

I got the doubt after Purchase and still waiting for it to arrive by Post hence do not have the picture yet

This has some answers on weight loss in the replies. The weight loss would depend on how worn it is.

2% weight loss is well within the normal limits for wear.  Typically, wouldn't be concerned until you get into 6% or higher.  Also, you didn't state which coin you were asking about, but +/- 2% would not even be unusual for standard weight tolerance for some coins.
