I recently bought a lot of three differently dated Jersey 1/12 shillings on ebay and when I go to enter the third one in my collection I see no listing for the year 1945. Is the year missing or did I buy a fake?
There is no date at all on the front so I don't believe the reasoning of the ‘1945’ being a commemorative. The coin looks exactly like the one listed as KM18 in Numista except for the date being different
A simply search for ‘Jersey 1945’ would result in these hits: LINK
You used a filter that searches for a precise years the coin is listed as actually being produced (regardless of calendar or frozen date etc) which for these coins is simply not the fact for 1945. It's also the reason they are listed as NDs.
Usually I'd say list it as 1945 (1949-1952) but in this case like ZacUK already mentioned I'd not even call it a frozen date, just part of the legend text.
