Can anyone please identify this coin for me ? [gelöst]

Hi,

I have found similar coins under Netherlands colonies, but none that appear to match exactly ……

copper, approx 24mm, but may have some wear, two lions rampant, with crown over shield on one side, and VOC, with shield and what looks a dot to the right of the shield, over the VOC.

Best match I could find. Shield between dots (above VOC) but there is a discrepency in diameter.  22 / 24?  Did you measure yours correctly?

Yes, that’s one of the ones I found, but it mine looks it is a shield and a dot above the VOC, not a star. Re size, possibly, but hard to measure as it does look it has had some wear round the edges …. But thanks for checking for me.

Yes, it looks like it is 22mm and the shield with 2 dots appears to be the Utrecht mint mark.

Your welcome.  Don't forget that the photo of the coin on the page is a 1790 with a star. Your coin is the 1794 with the shield between dots.
