I probably like the standing liberty quarter's design most out of all the US quarters. But it seems to be that the first detail to go through wear is the date. It's so annoying because I've seen so many of these coins that are in pretty good nick overall but you just can't read the date. It's the same with the buffalo nickels.
The other one that annoys me is the UK halfcrowns from 1902-1921. The detail goes off the coat of arms on it so quickly.
Anyone else have coins that they're frustrated with how they wear?
Chinese 20 Cash from 1907 have very thin rims, so they wear very easily. It's hard to find one even in VF. Same goes for French Napoleon III 10 Centimes.

I prefer the crispness or detail on the type I standing liberty quarters, the rest seem cartoonish to me, but, I don't really know why, I can't seem to put my finger on it. When I acquire a nice enough example, the wear stops with me, it's never been a problem . I do not look through entire lots of these coins, so, disappointment or frustration does not come up. Same applies to the buffalo nickels.
By the way I see you have posted some coins for swap! glad you are finally ready to start.
Apparently on the ones from 1925 onwards they recessed the date so it didn't wear as much, but before that they're awful. I think mine is 1920 because I can kind of make out the outside of the 0 on the end. I'll post a pic tonight
Thanks for the comment, I've got a couple of swaps, I'm getting a 1934 Fiji sixpence as well that I can add soon.
I can think of a couple but, probably U.S. Liberty Head nickel series.... A beautiful coin, but you can either find many very worn, cheap examples OR many very high grade, expensive ones.. Nothing in between...
