I know the feeling. International mail (EU-USA) became outreagously expensive the last years.
Usually iI's cheaper and easier for me to travel to all those coins markets in the Netherlands and to buy online bulks than to swap coins with the USA (despite of all my good former swaps with USA collectors).
Against all odds I keep collecting USA coins and so now and than swapping with my American friends.
Honestly, I can't say that the shipping went up that much. The shipping with tracking was always outrageously expensive (no idea why), and the regular one is still ok, though pricier than domestic, of course. But the problem is that a lot of people don't trust regular shipping and want tracking. But the tracking shipping abroad costs 4-12$, comparable to the regular shipping here, so it is doable.
