1943 netherlands notes

N#210814Does anyone know what's up with the small dots of various colors on this series of notes?

They are a security feature of the paper substrate if I am not mistaken. You also often get little colored strings in some banknotes (today they are fluorescent).

Interesting. So it's like the colored fibers in old us notes. I wish they just did that because the dots look terrible…😄
