Even though it's only 4 coins and 2 banknotes, could we add morse code as a script?

The Canadian 2 victory cents and 2 2 dollars, and 2 Israely notes have morse code on them.

Or is it too few to justify the script being added?

Morse code isn't a script

Do you mean braille?

No, there is morse around the edge of N#411

They say "Pecunia non olet", but I know better...

Also on an Australian coin, and I believe I've seen it elsewhere.

I can see an argument against morse code being a “script”, used as a code mostly.

But I'll still argue it can be a script on its own. Or any strong argumnets against? 🤔

I know it's a code, am an old scout after all, but wanted to hear some for and against it at least 🤓

Its just dots and lines (…---...) otherwise this would be a script to (tgy8sq1zv24hmbc), mentioning morse should also be enough to find it. If there are enough examples a tag could also be added.

Braille has just dots too, no lines.

But those dots are in a specific arrangement forming their own character, you can't easily use a period to replicate those.

What formal definition of “script” are you using?

I agree with this suggestion. Looking at past decisions on Numista, I don't see why it should not be implemented.

This was referenced when scripts were first added to the Numista catalogs.

Thank you. Morse code is on that list. And the dots and dashes are the visual representation of Morse code.

On that Wikipidia page, Morse Code and Braille is in the same section of the page.

This section:

Other non-linear alphabets

So I see no argument against adding it, by those standards :)

We should have a specific tickets for new script request.

I doubt there are so many script missing as of now? But maybe a ticket for “Others”, since there may be a few requests not within the current sub forums and and sub tickets?

And “Up!” with this ;)
