Wanted to Trade: Silver "Crowns"

Hi - I'm working on a type set of silver “crown” coins from around the world. Crown coins are large silver coins from any country, typically 35mm or larger and often with a high silver content (0.800 - 0.999). They were very common until the 1960s (think US dollar, Canada dollars, Mexico pesos, Panama balboa, etc) but even today many countries produce beautiful crown-sized silver commemorative and bullion coins that I'd like to own. (More info: https://www.pcgs.com/news/collecting-world-crowns)

I've been collecting world silver for many years and I already have some silver crowns, but I need more! So over the next few days, I'm uploading many of my doubles to my swap list. I'm looking for silver coins of similar size and value. Dates and mintmarks don't matter to me. In fact, eye appeal matters more than anything, but really I just want at least one of anything I don't already have. Not sure? Ask! Swaps don't have to be exactly gram for gram or penny for penny. I'm just looking for friendly swaps with easygoing collectors.

Please take a look at my swap list and let me know what you like. Let me know what you have. And remember, I'm adding more silver crowns to my swap lit every day so please check back. I hope we can make a deal…!!!

PS: due to shipping costs and customs forms I only trade with US collectors. Sorry to my international friends!

Added more “crowns” to my swap list this morning. Twenty beautiful silver Canada dollars and 7 catalog numbers so something for everyone. I'll add more soon. Let's trade some big silver!

Even more crowns added - France, Latvia, Norway, Panama… lots and lots of big silver coins in my swap list. Let's trade!

You are pretty limited if you're only willing to swap withing the US.

I also assume you're not interested in “normal” coins? I could probably give about 10-15 coins for each “crown” coin.

This offer goes to anyone else who reads this as well, by the way. 😊

ngdawa - I had many good swaps with international members over the years: Netherlands, Canada, France, Brazil, Spain, Thailand, etc…  And I met very nice collectors and had a great time trading and discussing coins. But postage gets more expensive all the time - USPS is raising rates again in July, that's the second time this year! And new customs regulations to Europe make trades more complicated. So I stick with US swaps. I use a flat-rate priority mail box with insurance, no customs forms, and my packages are delivered in 2 or 3 days. I agree that swapping internationally opens many opportunities to acquire coins or my collection, but the frustration of dealing with the USPS outweighs the benefit. Again, my apologies to all the great international members!

As for “normal” coins, no, I don't need them. In fact, a few months ago I sent thousands of such coins to another member here. Filled 3 boxes with coins that I just don't need anymore, but the other member was very happy to have them!

I am now focused on two areas:

1) US type coins (half cents, two-cents, 90% silver etc)

2) World Crowns and similar silver pieces

I hope to trade as many of my extra coins as I can over the next few weeks. After that I will take them to a coin show where I can trade them with dealers, but I prefer trading directly with other collectors here on Numista!

Bump!

A couple deals in progress. Lots more silver available. Let's trade!

Don't worry, mate. I totally understand why. Here the postaged has doubled since 2018, so I totally get it.
