To split Greenlandic banknote or not?

This and other notes from Greenland has an issue special for Ivigtut (today Ivittuut in Greenlandic).

There SCWPM P# 1f has a special star on it, as seen in the comment.

 

Should I split these between standard issues and Ivigtut issues as a locale issue? 🤔

Yes, imho, if the star has been printed only for the Ivigtut issues - it is essentially an oveprint which creates a separate issue.

I had a quick look for these - they are rare!

I found one image which can be used in addition to the one in the comments section of your link above.

 

Below is a 25 Ore, ex-StacksBowers. The star is a cruder overprint than on the 1888 note.

So they are split!

Unsure why an overprint warrants a split but a watermark does not?

One criterion I apply for possibly warranting a split is whether or not a separate image would be needed to illustrate the difference. 

In the case of an overprint, which is often applied to a banknote to change its validity in some fashion, I would generally go for a split.
