Dear Exprets in suchtype of coins,

There is a nice 1 pie Bhopal coin (7.7 g, 17.5 mm):

and Numista catalogue says that there can be two dates of this type: 1305 (1888)  or 1306 (1889). Which date is this piece of, and how can we generally tell them apart?

N#94996

Digging for more info

here it can be seen they use the Arabic numbers:

This would be 1306 / 1305 in Arabic:

١٣٠٥ / ١٣٠٦

so search on you coin, and maybe you'll find at least a 5 or a 6?

Have fun

Dear Sjoelund,

Do you suggest that the blurry blob on the coin's top on the second photo is digit ‘5’??

I don't know, you have the coin in hand…..

Yes, but those photos are to some extent even better: they are relatively distinct and magnify the original size at least five times, for better viewing…

Generally, do you know the answer yourself?

Honestly, I don't have a clue. If I had had an idea, I would have given you the solution by now!

OK, I see...

Nevertheless, your idea about only the last digit of the mint date seems to be plausible, so thank you anyway! )

Let's see if anybody can confirm of refue it.
