I have found a canadian 25 cents , but it looks very different. Looks scratched with orange under the scratches. Can anyone tell me if I have a Gem? Thank you

Nothing special in that, probably a mint rolling machine damage. But for sure your coin is unique, since it your fingerprints on it☺️

I don't think there's anything special about it, but that isn't the color I would expect of a nickel plated steel core coin.  Maybe the steel has oxidized already?

If you have a good look, you'll see the roll machine trace the whole way round the coin!

Modern Canadian circulation coins use what the Royal Canadian Mint calls multi-ply technology. They are made of steel with a layer of copper (or copper alloy, I'm not sure) and finally nickel plated. The Mint's website gives the composition as 94% steel, 3.8 % Copper and 2.2% Nickel plating.

I have a coin, would this baby be worth anything?

Commonly known as the “Ring of Death”. Rip yet another coin. So many of them ruined by coin rolling machines.
