I found a coin with  a large smooth raised  edge

I can't find any information on this coin or what it's worth may be.

Hello and welcome to Numista!

Could you measure the diameter in mm and post a picture of the other side?  A weight in grams would be nice too, if you can.

Also, Try to get a picture of the edge.

The edge is 2 mm. I don't have anything to weigh it with.

Thanks. Duameter please.

I made a mistake.  The diameter is 24.3 mm. This approximate,  all l is a small tape measure. The thickness is 2 mm

The edge milling has been rolled flat, and the flan has been mushroomed in the process.

This coin has been caught in a rotating machine of some kind.

The most common example of this is the clothes washing machine coin, but there are other candidate machines.

If you want details on the coin, you can see them here:

As for your example, can you see evidence that the edge was originally reeded?

BTW your diameter measurement is consistent with a normal example.

The severe abrasive wear on the loom indicates something drastic was going on with this coin post mint as Mr. Midnight indicated.  Not a Mint error and not worth more than the 25 cents face value.

The ultimate washing machine coin.  Weight 5.46g, diameter 18.4mm, thickness 7.2mm.
