Not sure on the authenticity of this coin

Selling for $37 USD on Ebay and the seller has five of them available.  This is a key date in the Australia Penny series.

1 Penny - George VI - Australia – Numista

The Numista page has images for 1946 (in the mintage line) and your coin looks reasonable, except:

• On your coin I see a different type of surface around the 4 and 6.
• When comparing the images closely it seems the 4 and 6 are in a slightly different position.

I'm not an expert. I could be seeing things, or there could be different 1946 dies with different date positions, or it could be a modified coin.

The six in the date doesn’t look correct, the rest of the date shows some wear but the six is clear, I have seen british pennies from George V altered in this was to try and pass them off as a 1933

Look closely under the 4 it looks like it has had the date removed 

I have a tendency to say the coin is OK, look at this?
