Coins of the Austro-Hungarian Empire

Have a nice weekend guys - I had a fit playing at the auction.

The auctions just ended and I won a total of 7 auctions.  I have the impression that I was bidding against the seller himself (who was bidding from a different IP address) The auctions were extremely cheap and so I took them in order - even though I have most of the coins.    Just to replace the better ones with my worse ones and to supplement if I was missing something.  There are a lot of duplicates.  Especially the "Uherské" are interesting and some of them are of higher quality than I have.  The total price is lower than the value of one of the "fillers", so they play it, anyway, they only show a fairy tale on TV on Saturday evening.

They are all paid with a ridiculous amount - my son paid it by mobile (I only make transfers from the account, I don't want to pay by mobile yet - I know myself.).  I assume that I will have it at home by Friday, then I will show the photos.

Do you think I'm off the chain?

Excellent purchase. 🧐

The only limit to such collections is If you have enough closet space for them.

Wow, that limit can be exceeded - it's just the icing on the cake 🍰 (as they call it here).  I'll pick the prettiest and shovel the rest and it will go to scrap.  Probably to the box that I call the "dump of history", I only paid 4 dollars for postage from one seller.    Only one Filler coin from the Hungarian Mint is selling for more than I paid for seven auctions combined.  The Austro-Hungarian Monarchy is also our Czech history.

We were one of the nations of this European Union in an empire that was one of the major world powers.  These are my coins - my house was built sometime in 1892 and I found the same coins on the ground under the return in the barn in the yard now opposite the terrace where the horses were harnessed from the wagon.

I think there are a few good quality pieces in those piles?

Thank you, yes, it is an interesting parallel to the reign of Francis Joseph I. of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, he was Emperor of Austria in the years 1848-1916, King of Bohemia (uncrowned) and Hungary (coronation 1867), King of Lombardy and Venice, Dalmatia, Croatia, Slavonia, etc.  He ruled without 10 days for 68 years.

Just one of the interesting examples - just look at auction no. 1 in the lower right corner.  Two dimes from 1916 next to each other, but if you look at the Eagle, the coat of arms has a change - the old one and the other coin a new coat of arms.  So it is also a well of knowledge and interesting things.

Example of coats of arms 1916

Let's enjoy history.

Very nice. I only have a few coins from Hungary myself, none earlier than 1968. I hope to pick up a few coins when I visit Budapest later this year.

The post office delivered them a day earlier than I expected since the weekend.   And I wouldn't even go on, only to be met with an absolutely precisely packed pile of coins.  Yes, one coin did not touch another.  And the coins didn't move at all.  all packed in a hard card on both sides and glued with food film.  None of the carriers would guess that there are coins.
