russian wire money [gelöst]

When I purchased this, I was told that this was wire money from Ivan the III. Upon further examination, I couldn't find any coins similar to this one. Wondering if anyone can help me figure out what it really is.

Hello! As far as I know, these kind of coins are silver (very light) kopecks of the 17-th. century russian tzars. I can't say to whom exactly it belongs…

I did some research on our catalog, this is a russian denga of late 15th century - early 16th century from Novgorod. The only rulers with this exact coin design are Ivan III and Vasiliy III.

At this time Moscow was not yet an empire, but a principality.

I think that the exact type is not here yet, the closest one I've found is N#366779 .

I got mine from ebay a couple years ago. I bet they still sell them, but it would probably be more expensive.
