Hi,

Has anyone experience with overweight sovereigns? - specifically from Pobjoy mint.

 

Is this ‘good cause’ for suspicion of forgery?

 

Any  experience or information very gratefully received.

Thanks for your rapid response.  

 

The sovereign weighs in at 8.22g and scales as below.  [They show exactly 5gr (5.000) when charged with standard 5gr weight.

They is always a small tolerance of fault possible but indeed 8,22g seems quite heavy.
