2018 France 20 cent Euro difference?

Hello, I have two 20 cent Euro coins from France with some noticeable differences. Both are from 2018 but one is slightly larger, as well there are differences in the details, such as there is a line missing over the top star on one of them among a few others. Is one of them counterfeit? I've added some pictures as well.

I'm not seeing any appreciable difference in size.  Can you measure the diameter of both?

Here it is, and my conclusion is that it is NOT a variant, but a die error (half filled), the continuation of the ray through the star is seeable .

Wow thank you so much for explaining! That is very cool. I had a couple of follow up questions with pics attached. At the tip of the hair on picture 1. you can see that there is a bit of a curl upwards as well as a break at the end of the middle strand compared to picture 2. 

As well on picture 1. you can see that the mint mark is flat compared to picture 2. where there is an indentation. 

Are these also the result of a die error? Especially with the hair piece, it looks completely different to my (very untrained) eyes. 😂
