Golden-colour Canadian Voyager Dollar - real or fake?

I am guessing that this is just painted - if so, someone's done a fantastic job of it, as there are no gaps in the painting (as in no areas of another colour)
Otherwise, could it be real? It's magnetic, but could it be brass-clad?

It's nickel. It's real. It's been plated by someone so PMD.
