I have 500 coins , year 1990, face value 20 PLN Poland

The coins are originally packed in paper sleeves, 50 pieces in each package, 10 sleeves in total, 500 coins. The collective package made of thick foil (unopened since 1990) has been lying on my desk for 34 years

Please help me what should I do with these coins?

Well, you can keep them, swap them for other coins, or sell them :)

 

I also wonder if the Polish Bank would accept them back? But only if you're already based in Poland, otherwise it wouldn't be worth it 😆

They reformed the Zloty in the 1990s due to inflation in the 1990s. These coins now are worth 0.2 of a grozs each now, so realistically good for scrap only or to use as tokens in a friendly card game.

 

They are made out of muck metal and have no real face value now, like most communist bloc era coins - there is little interest in them as they were plain and like everything in communism, cheaply made and despised by people who hated communism. They also came at a time when communism was ending and the inflation made them worthless, they were worth a handful of cents when made and then lost that value.

I love coins. Especially silver, gold and anything really old.

Why do you hate coins some much lmao

 

The coins are neat if low value, someone might pay a bit more for having a roll
