Fake or not 1 dollar 1928 USA [gelöst]

Detail way too hazy for a genuine coin. A coin with that must lustre should not have faded details and poor definition.

Cheap […] copy, likely plated brass. An UNC Peace dollar should weigh 26.73 grams, 25.4 grams would be one in worn flat condition. The rim looks wrong as well and is too yellowey in colour. There are a lot of high quality and sophisticated fakes of silver American coins coming out and they are fooling many people.

Usual sign is that they are copies of rare dates, yet copies of common coins are known too.

As many I buy it to ebay, 

I made a acid test and it is silvered at most if not silver made.

I see a remains of foundery in close up image (drops a metal)

Hi; sad but True. I must check every single coin I buy.If the weight it is not correct more or less 0,5 grams it is a warning sign. Thisday a notice I return as fake around 10% of my purchase. A very expensive and Time consuming practice.

Only good news is the chinesse guys are not able to produce yet a good quality dies. They use a original coin to produce  metal mould or high pressure  die cast. This technique produce flimsy details and cast drops.  To produce a good quality die it is very extensive process. 

Personally, I am worried about the improving quality of chinesse copy.  From the flea market copy they mount little by little since they will arrive to mass produce almost indetectable copy.  

there are already much better ones around than this, in fake NGC slabs…
