USA 1c 1988D - Possible variation?

Just been looking at a number of US 1 cents and found this…

Possible variation - D between the 9 and 8, as well as a D below the first 8 (both appear to have the same FG design on the reverse).  I will certainly record this one, but if anyone else has a similar variation it may be worth making a note of it on the page.

yes, in fact since each die pair produces no more than 100,000 coins, there are at least 50,000 variants of mint mark placement of the 1988 D.
