You've just found out now or do you already have a longer period troubles to reach their website?

It might be just a technical problem. A few years back we also had problems reaching the Numista website for a few days.

It has been down for several days now but no idea what has happened

domain expired on August 29th. Owner has 40 days to recover domain before it is up for grabs.

The domain has not expired. World of Coins was the victim of an electronic mishap. We are still trying to find out what happened and we are quite unhappy that it took our Host and our name manager (it is possible that it was a DNS issue, as the WoC name did not propagate correctly over the www) four days to fix the problem and that they didn't even bother to inform us when it was fixed. During that time, eurid listed the site as “quarantined”.  Well, you can't argue with a machine.

Since the site was unavailable, it was not possible to inform everybody. Everyone who contacted me or Izotz as well as our partner sites (including Numista) received a timely warning as well as a notice that the problem was fixed.

I'd like to thank contributors in this thread for their interest. I find your interest encouraging. As members of Numista, you are welcome to World of Coins (WoC) and World of Tokens (WoT) and you have privileges there, in particular on picture permissions. Your interest is evidence that a non-commercial catalogue site, a non-commercial discussion site and a non-commercial numismatic data base are not competitors but a system where each component can supplement and reinforce the others.

The domain has not expired.

It was listed as quarantined in eurid.eu database. For me that's a sign that somebody forgot to pay the bill. If enom messed up with domain for different reason, up to you to explain to them how many domain registrars are on this planet.

Well, now you know that the assumption can be wrong. There never  was any payment delay whatsoever. I was once listed as “recently deceased”. It doesn't mean I was dead.
