Danmarks Nationalbank has revealed the motifs and themes for the new series of banknotes. The motifs on one side of the new banknotes will be important achievements and the people behind them, and the other side will have the sea as a shared theme.

It's a little bit disappointing that H.C. Andersen will be on one of the banknotes, since he already has appeared in another series.

As for H.C. Andersen, there were many other countries which depicted the same personality several times on their banknotes (like Henrik Ibsen in case of Norway or István Széchenyi in Hungary) and sometimes they looked really different each time. I think it would be nice to see a new design featuring Andersen after 50 years, but that is just my opinion.
Anyway, I’m really curious how these new desings will turn out, especially after two decades without any personalities on the banknotes.
